The Weekend in Pictures – Vol. 7, Part I

04.10.09 – Haulosaurus Colossus

I think the pictures speak for themselves… however some of the colours didn’t photograph very accurately. Must’ve been the lighting or something but they appear a lot brighter in these pictures and are deeper in real life.

Oooooh weeeeee! Little boxes.. with little bottles in them!

Not the prettiest spectrum, but I am very excited to own each and every one of these individual colours!

Malaga Wine, Miami Beet, Purple-opolis, Lourve Me, Lourve Me Not, Black Cherry Chutney, Russian Navy

In My Back Pocket, Goin’ Ape-ricot!, Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Moose, Suzi says Da!

David was also very pleased that I now have colours that match his wheels! (I’m not sure what  it is with him trying to match his girlfriend to his toys but he’s asked me to wear polishes that match the colours on his bike as well!)

Aforementioned bike. The colours are quite nice, actually…

Because I don’t discriminate and because there was a good deal going on these, I got me some Color Club to accompany my lone bottle of Hot Latte

Black, Snow Queen, Killer Curves, Fast Woman, Fast Woman, Frost Bite
Yes, those are TWO bottles of Fast Woman… d’oh! One was labelled Artful Seduction so I thought they differed some how. I guess the way I consistently gravitated towards the same colour says something good about it!

Brrr-Red, Rubies and Pearls, Berry Dancer, Warming Trend, British Berry, Southwest Sunset, Out and About, Paris White

Yes, I am aware that most  of them look very similar. The Color Club range available at the place I got these wasn’t very adventurous. I’m sure they are nice colours in their own right, though.

Having fun with with a bit of polish himself! Everyone can join in!

05.10.09

Dr G’s Cuticle Healer

Got this stuff with my haul and tried it out today. Removes, conditions and heals! It is awesome! My cuticles are looking the best they ever have. I’m not sure how it works though, but the fact that it removes cuticles without the need for trimming (by melting them away, perhaps?) is a little unsettling. I’ll try not to use it too often.

Cuticles looking the best they ever have

As you can see, my nails are NEKKID! Free of polish! I thought I should let them breathe for a week and it is killing me, especially after the massive haul I have just recently made.  Oh well, only one more day to go!

Detour

03.09.09

David rings me in the morning to tell me he’s left Rupert’s keys in the ignition so I drop by where he’s parked to retrieve them to prevent some junkie from breaking in and driving him away. God forbid that should ever happen, I just love this little car!

It was a little bit of a detour from my usual route to uni, and meant David would have to drop by after work to pick up the keys and have me deliver him back to Rupert but I didn’t mind because Rupert was safe again and we got to have dinner together that evening. Not only that, but it also presented me with an opportunity to drop by Helen’s who was extremely kind enough to RAOK me with this: (!!!)

A Oui bit of Red in my hot little hand!

Thank you so much! You made my day!! :D I enjoyed the little chat we had and went home one happy camper!

NOTD – Vol. 1.5

So, I have a backlog of NOTD swatches. These are more like “Nails of the last three weeks”.

17.09.09 – OPI – Kinky in Helsinki

I wasn’t sure if I liked this colour at first. It’s a little brighter than I’m used to but I’m glad to report that it grew on me in the end. While the pictures of it in direct sunlight suggest that it’s a bright hot pink, it has another dimension of red/magenta (a hint of which the indoor photo shows) depending on which angle you look at it from.

20.09.09 – OPI – Yoga-ta get this Blue!

I bought this colour back in winter when I was searching for a vampy black-blue. I was a little disappointed to find that it was more blue than black but was glad that David requested I wear this colour again (he likes that it looks like the magneisum blue that a limited number of Rays racing wheels came out in). Perhaps it’s the recent sunshine that has allowed me to appreciate it for what it is because I loved it the second time ’round. It was a little dark for spring though, and didn’t go with the clothes I have been wearing so far this season.

Excuse the messy paint job in my photo. This was taken right after I painted my nails and before I got a chance to clean them up in the shower. I’m lazy and don’t really bother with nail polish remover. I prefer peeling off  and tidying up sloppy paint jobs in a hot shower – it’s not as messy and doesn’t stink! I’m also sure it’s a lot better for my skin.

The wheels that inspired the colour choice. Rays released some of their wheels in this awesome magnesium blue.

24.09.09 – OPI – Melon of Troy

After rocking a darker shade, I thought a lovely, brighter colour should be in order. Enter Melon of Troy. I quite like this colour but am not a fan of frosty finishes. While it isn’t as bad as some others, the visible brush strokes/streaks annoy me. I don’t think it’s that significant that anyone else notices, though – I’m just being pedantic.

Hooray! Exams are over!

It’s such a relief to come home and not have anything to study for! Shame noone is around tonight.
