Surprise! More photos from our trip to New Zealand at the beginning of the year! I’m getting really good at turning my posts into little ‘installments’ of things. In this case, it’s the Rotorua post in “The Food We Hed in In-Zed!” series that is part of my coverage of our trip even-further-down-under.
Generally, dining out was cheaper over there but I still think Sydney has the better tasting food. Maybe it has to do with the “omfg-so-hungry-effect” where anything tastes awesome anyway after exerting lots of energy. Yeah, that must be it, considering NZ is the adventure capital of the universe!

Disgusting plain food. Ugh. Wasn’t even heated through.

The Boy and his (own, unstolen) steak at Mac’s Steakhouse

Seafood chowder! CHOW-DEURRRR! So awesome! They had this on offer in most places throughout NZ. It’s like their national dish, lol

Corn fritters. I was disappointed with these to be honest, but I think it’s my own fault. For some reason I was expecting a creamed corn like filling inside a deep-fried crumbed casing… Err, I think I was thinking of those of the frozen variety. I have no idea why I thought they would serve those in a restaurant, lol.

Surf ‘n Turf Stone Grill at Triple 1 Five Cafe.

Steak of some sort

Roasted vegies

Eggs’ Benedict at Relish Cafe. This was okay but still, nothing compares to the one we had at the Boardwalk Cafe in Cairns. I still salivate thinking about it. Mmmm. I must post a pic of it some time.
I’ve secured employment! And guess what? I don’t need to wear business attire! I was looking forward to building up a corporate wardrobe but after a day in the comfort of jeans and flats, it doesn’t really seem to matter anymore
These past few days have been ‘exploratory’ in that I’ve been trying to gauge what is acceptable and what isn’t. I thought I was taking a risk by wearing Essie Body Language on my first week (instead of something even more incognito like Mademoiselle or something) but it turns out that it doesn’t really matter since I’ve already spotted less un-obvious colours around the office! The weather is getting cooler and I am feeling more inclined towards wearing darker shades. I hope I can bring out my vampies! One of the girls was wearing something that looked like Mrs O’Leary’s BBQ, so maybe I’ll start with that.
Oops. Not a lot of polish, lately. I guess that’s a reflection of where it’s been on my list of priorities recently. I’ve been wearing it but I haven’t been bothered to take photos but I think this will turn around soon since I have a new light box to play with
The dear boyfriend got me one for our anniversary (thanks (_I_)head!), so be prepared for some absolutely PRO shots in the near future, haha.
ulta3 – wild berry
I love ulta3 polishes! At only $2 a pop, who wouldn’t? I got this from Pulse Pharmacy and was even more delighted when it scanned through at only $1.60. I later discovered that they were having a 20% off sale… and I only got one!! What’s going on? I didn’t even go back inside to buy more. Come to think of it, I haven’t really been buying any polish lately which I suppose, is a good thing.
Anyway, this applied nicely enough in two coats and lasted just as long as other brands. I really love the colour, it’s perfect for when black is just too dark (or too done) or when China Glaze – Recycle is just too light. Well done, ulta3!

China Glaze – Oxygen
I loved this when I was wearing it. Sadly, that was a very long time ago because I have been so diligent in updating my blog (har). I think it was good to go in around 3 coats, but I’m pretty sure I applied more for extra measure. These light colours (sheers? neutrals? I dunno, whatever) are a pain in the arse to get opaque and non-streaky but this one is one of the better ones. I have OPI’s Time-less is more as well and tested it out on my pinky – Oxygen definitely had better coverage.

OPI – Barefoot in Barcelona
Man, I remember wanting this so bad when the España collection first came out. WHHYYYYY? I don’t know either. Perhaps I need to be white, like the people I have seen this look good on. Heh.
